I have a background in classical music.
I trained, performed, and taught classical violin for the first three decades of my life.
In 2011, I moved with my family from NC to Philly for a larger Jewish community to raise my children. As someone who was always into natural health and feeding nourishing foods to my family in a complicated “food world”, I decided to learn and become certified in nutrition coaching from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. With this certification I started helping others make healthier food and lifestyle choices.
Around the time I completed my certification, my mom fell ill with stage four cancer. Between caring for my young children, starting my own practice, and supporting my ill mother, I had little time and a lot of stress.
In 2018, while my mother was in the dying process, I fell ill with stage two breast cancer. It was an incredibly difficult year between fighting cancer, grieving my mother and home responsibilities. In my healing process, I decided that I wanted to support others battling and recovering from cancer. I completed a coaching certification program from BeatCancer.Org in 2018. In this program I learned how to empower individuals to make positive health choices for themselves on their cancer recovery journey.
My challenges kept coming… In 2020, everyone was dealing with the stresses of Covid 19. In January of 2022, I faced a challenge which every mother would describe as their worst nightmare. My almost 16 year old son was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumor. I around the clock cared for my son inside and outside of the hospital for eleven months before he passed. There was so much pain, trauma, and grief.
As someone who always believed in the healing ability of the mind, body, and soul, I did not give up searching for a path forward. In my search, I found The Conscious Life Institute based in London, and I started taking classes. I learned about so many tools and techniques available today that help people heal from past and present trauma. I learned about developed techniques such as Emotional Freedom Tapping, CBT, meditation, and hypnosis to hit subconscious levels. I recently learned that Jewish tradition has many of these methods imbedded in ancient texts from hundreds of years ago that are only now being used in current therapeutic practices. As I delved into the program, I decided that I wanted become certified in their Therapeutic Coaching method, I recently completed their three year long intensive certification program. I am excited to help others heal and live their best lives.
